From Burnout to Balance (PRESALE)
From Burnout to Balance is a journey with Elijah through 1 Kings 19, discovering how God meets a burned-out prophet with compassion rather than condemnation and with rest and not rebuke. In 1 Kings 18, Elijah stood on Mount Carmel, called down fire from heaven, and watched an entire nation fall on its face declaring, “The Lord—He is God!” He confronted a corrupt system, dismantled idolatry in plain view, and experienced one of the most dramatic demonstrations of God’s power in all of Scripture. And yet, in the very next chapter, we meet a very different Elijah.
In 1 Kings 19, the prophet who once outran chariots is now running from a single threat. He is physically exhausted, emotionally empty, and spiritually disoriented. He collapses under a broom tree and prays what might be one of the most honest prayers in the Bible: “I have had enough, Lord. Take my life.” He is not backslidden, but he is broken. He is not faithless, but he is finished. Elijah finds himself in the throws of burn out.
This book is an invitation to walk through Elijah’s story, allowing it speak to your own. It serves a gateway to not only naming what is really going on inside of you, but also giving God permission to tend to your mind, body, and soul. With this book, you will rediscover that you are not alone and be reminded that everything doesn’t rest on your shoulders alone. You’ll find that Elijah’s account in these chapters is not only a tale of collapse but a blueprint for restoration for him that can be used for you too.
